Catching Up - Home and London Lately

The past month has been a lot of moving, and a little shaking. A trip home before a hectic few weeks moving flat was much needed, and now needed again after much DIY-ing...!
Taking joy in the little things (I think daffodils might be a little bit magic in their power to cheer you up!) and seeing the beauty of the familiar, I was definitely a bit nostalgic this month!
Sometimes you don't realise how long you've been gone, until you give someone directions to a restaurant that closed two years ago...But we did manage to find our way to Bourbon at Queens for a family-in-law get together and some very pretty and reasonably priced dishes, and a little wedding talk. Soon to attempt in my own kitchen, I had the mustard glazed pork belly, which was fully of flavour, a little Asian-tasting twist on comfort food. The Ardsallagh Goats Cheese starter was fresh and fruity, with carrot jam (can you go wrong with jam?), and the first time I've had cold goats cheese in a starter.
Sadly I have no dessert to share due to Lent, but I was very jealous of my Dad's homemade crumble. Overall a tasty trip, but soooo looking forward to a chocolate egg and a 10 pack of Tayto next weekend.
Today we took a break from the constant "Assembly Required" (still a bed to create!) and made the most of the greenery on our new doorstep. I even went for a run, one early morning circuit of the local duck pond and the ducks were still snoozing. Shock.
Looking forward to a summertime of lazing on the grass and an ice-cream at the new local. It's not quite Not London, but a few quiet corners of peace!

Catching up - Belfast Fashion Week

Is it time for a Bank Holiday yet? I promised myself I'd get another post up before we did the big flat move, but hey presto 3 weeks later isn't bad? What should have been our last weekend in the old school flat became a weekend at home, doing much more glamorous things than packing, including Belfast Fashion Week!

As part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations, Cruise showcased some of their best and beautiful at an afternoon tea at Saphyre restuarant and boutique on the Lisburn Road.
The building itself is stunning, I really recommend popping in to see the gorgeous interior design showroom. As for the event itself, the bites and pieces were equally delicious and eye-popping.

Almost Famous / Forever Unique
The edit of looks immediately marked the start of Spring, and the rich exotic colours really tied in well with the dramatic setting of the restaurant. Some unexpected stunners from Almost Famous and Forever Unique have made me look twice at bold colour lace, a move on from the current pastel trend that could evolve into a steamy summer!

Maybe there is something a bit off-putting to some about scoffing a scone while watching models in body-con, but the dainty treats were delicious and light, it would have been wrong not to enjoy it all.
