London Lately

Life lately has been a balancing act of cosying and glamming up.
I ventured to the Southbank to photograph an al-fresco fashion show, and took a few photos of London by night - such a tourist!
Last night was a girly outing to Nobu, but sometimes you can't beat an impromtu Sunday dinner round the corner. Our second meal at local Tota didn't disappoint, even if our first choices were sold out (will have to try going on a Saturday!) Massive ribs, nice wine and atmosphere, and no tube journey. Three words: Buttermilk Onion Rings.
A little longer in the planning, a wonderful wintery wedding last week back home, with a beautiful bride and glamorous friends I don't see nearly enough.
Digging out "nearly-new" clothes, (I have a habit of picking up winter bits at the end of the sale, and storing away for a surprise months later!) and mixing casual cosy tops with fancy accessories.

From top is a Whistles pencil skirt from last year (70% off!), a big chunky knit from Zara's summer sale, and a New Look checked shirt from years ago, but it's come back around! The Accessorize necklace and bag were a steal for my wedding outfit, but have been wearing back with plain knits for work.

Lastly an early Christmas gift, a Lancome travel palette for trips home and desk to dinner - shame it will still need to go into a sandwich bag every few months!
Last weekend was perfect for exploring, so ventured out of London with friends to Winkworth for traipsing through leaves and marvelling at nature, before a hearty pub lunch. Much needed before we amp up for friends visiting London next week- now what to do in the chilly city?

Coatwalk on the South Bank

The question I get asked most about my job is " Do you get to go to fashion shows?" and always the same answer: Well, no, I'm a number cruncher, any fashion shows I've been to have been for fun, not work.

(At a previous company we were graciously allowed to watch the live stream of our fashion show at London Fashion Week, from our desks back in the office.) The company I work for now has just launched their first campaign as a group - the Mum & Me Coatwalk, and last night I went along to the glamorous show on the South Bank to see the result of all the hard work and take some snaps of course:

The campaign brings together coats from across Jacques Vert Group's 8 brands,
and launched with 3 shows yesterday along London's South Bank:
The models were a mix of polished professionals, supporting celebrities (including Emilia Fox,
Joanna David and even TOWIE Nanny Pat!) and You magazine readers,
all wearing the coats in their own way:
Coatwalk is also supporting the "Think Pink" charity campaign, which made an uplifting
appearance in the form of energetic dancers with pink ribbons and girls with pink balloons:
So excited to see the result of all the hard work from design, buying and marketing,
but the winter's not done yet. Roll on Monday morning...!

Out of London Lately

 London Back Home Lately

Just back from a week of wedding planning in Belfast, with a date and venue finally locked down. Now on to the finer details - but have loads of inspiration at the Quirky Wedding Fair to keep me going!

In between visits and decision making we had the chance to take a coastal stroll or two, and took the opportunity to take a few more photos for practice!

At Crawfordsburn Country Park.
